Robert Debré Hospital is an Academic Teaching Hospital with all pediatric specialties involved.
The hospital is located in the north part of Paris with easy public transportation (tramway and subway station “porte des lilas”). The department of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery (Chair: Prof Keyvan Mazda) has a strong focus on pediatric spinal surgery with approximately 200 instrumented fusions for varying indications performed yearly. The spine staff consists of Pr Keyvan Mazda and Pr Brice Ilharreborde (IGASS member).
Five cases of pediatric deformities are usually treated weekly (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday), and pediatric trauma cases can be referred. Fellows can be present at the clinic (scoliosis outpatient clinic Wednesday afternoon, 50 patients), during daily rounds and scoliosis preoperative meetings (every Tuesday), and can scrub in at surgery. Meals can be obtained in the hospital. Internet access is provided.
