Aarhus Hospital is one of Denmark’s largest and most highly specialised hospitals relying on cutting edge technology and highly skilled staff. The Hospital currently has 900 beds and room for a further 92 patients at its patient hotels.

In its capacity as university hospital, Aarhus Hospital carries out research within all medical specialities represented at the institution. The research efforts provide the basis for offering patients cutting edge examination, treatment and care methods while guaranteeing patients a consistent high service quality.

The Spine Unit is a tertiary referral centre for the region. The Unit performs approximately 650 major reconstructions per annum. The Spine Team is comprised of five senior consultants and currently seven PhD.-students and two Master students.

What can a fellow expect?

Spine surgery is important, however, trauma is also part of the work.
The work environment is democratic and in formal. Surgeons, nurses and most patients speak and understand English.

Involvement in clinical or experimental research is a possibility.
Working hours are set, thus leaving room to tour Denmark and Scandinavia.

Accommodation can be arranged through the hospital and ranges from guestrooms to flats depending on availability and duration of stay.
