Klinikum rechts der Isar

The Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich is one of two University Hospitals in Munich. It is situated close to the center.

The department of Neurosurgery performs 2500 surgeries per year, of which approximately 1500 are spinal procedures. The whole range of spinal surgery (except for juvenile deformity) is offered. A focus is on microsurgery (including intradural pathology), minimally invasive techniques, non-fusion technologies and intraoperative robotics. However, the whole spectrum from microdiscectomies to 360 degree fusion procedures is performed on a daily basis.

What can a fellow expect?

Full time spine surgery, daily rounds and neuroradiological conferences, spinal outpatient clinic, library access, etc .
Fellows who are not only interested in spine, but also in intracranial neurosurgery, will find a wide spectrum of surgical expertise to learn from.
Fellows will be able to observe, but also to scrub.

At the moment there are no guest rooms inside or close to the hospital, but arrangements can be made outside.
