The Landesklinikum Amstetten is a general hospital. It is a teaching hospital of the University of Vienna.
The hospital has a strong occupational profile with an orthopedic and a trauma department. Both departments work independently. Spinal trauma cases are performed in the trauma department exclusively. However, it is very likely that both departments will be merged in five years.
One of our focuses is based on the degenerative diseases of the spine with its frontal and sagittal malalignements as well. Another important section is minimally invasive spinal surgery. Mainly two surgeons perform spinal surgery on two days per week. There is a close collaboration with the trauma department and fellows can assist trauma cases if the wish.
